The German dairy company Kohrener Landmolkerei is located in the small town of Penig in Saxony, Germany. To identify the stop causes on one of their main production lines, they have installed a DIAP with our OEE application. With the new data insight, they know what causes downtime and where to take action.
To collect OEE data, the operator must register all reasons for downtime. The DIAP OEE application is customized, which makes it simple for the operator to select one of the reasons that matches the production line.
Once a week the Kohrener Molkerei is provided with a Pareto chart, which is a graphical tool, that visualizes the production downtime and efficiency. This is what serves as a basis for internal discussions and improvement initiatives.
Having the insight from the Pareto chart, the maintenance team at Kohrener Molkerei can direct their efforts where they will make the most impact.
“Our maintenance department is able to tell, which machines and components are causing problems. That means, that they can focus on optimizing where it is most needed. When a machine is causing problems, it is early identified where, and we can avoid as much downtime as possible”, says Michael Vashold.
Kohrener Landmolkerei has already experienced what a difference installing DIAP has made for their insight into their production. In the future, they will also be applying DIAP to collect data on more production lines.
